How to Use a Control Card

  • Micro & Precise Control Cards

    To calculate WPI line up your single or plied yarn to the matching line on your control card.

  • Micro Control Card

    You can also wrap your yarn or single comfortably between the 0 and 1/2 (not loose, not tight). Multiply the number of wraps by 2 to calculate WPI.

  • Precise Control Card

    You can also wrap your yarn or single comfortably between the 0 and 2 (not loose, not tight). Divide the number of wraps by 2 to calculate WPI.

  • Nano

    To measure WPI, wrap your single 10x starting at the edge "Wrap 10" points to. Look for the largest number not covered; that is your WPI. If a number is partly covered, estimate WPI between that and the next smallest number. For singles finer than 40, do as above, but wrap 20x starting from "Wrap 20".
